Toronto Blue Jays outfield Jose Bautista, a “f*cking disgrace” according to Goose Gossage, isn’t letting the comments get him down. He had some fun today during spring training, engaging in a fitness contest today with the Phillie Phanatic.
Bautista was going through his pregame warm-ups before today’s game against the Phillies when the Phanatic wandered over and the two engaged in a battle of strength.

The two went back and forth in different exercises, and the Phanatic even bowed down to Joey Bats when he pulled off a handstand. The battle seemed to be over but the Phanatic got down and did multiple one-handed push-ups. Bautista tried to do the same and couldn’t pull it off. Bautista bowed back, the two shook hands, the Phanatic flashed the crowd and the warm-up resumed.
Bautista went 0-3 at the plate in Saturday’s game as the Blue Jays fell 8-5 to the Phillies, but he sure hit a home run with the contest. It was light-hearted fun. Good on Bautista for taking the Phanatic up on his challenge.
