The hit series Game of Thrones has slowly seeped its way into the sports world in some way, shape or form. The latest comes from the Pittsburgh Pirates.

The Pirates clearly drew inspiration from the highly acclaimed HBO series, as they constructed an opening based on the show to introduce the team’s starting lineup. Needless to say, the team captured the essence of Westeros perfectly and made Pittsburgh look like a very welcome addition into the Game of Thrones universe.

It is very apparent that the Pirates organization are very familiar with the show, and those who constructed this opening delivered to the fullest, as they perfectly captured the city of Pittsburgh, its players, and PNC Park with the full feel of Westeros behind it.

Not many starting lineup introductions can get much more creative or clever than that.
