The general consensus was that Rougned Odor would get somewhere between eight and ten games for his role in Sunday’s Blue Jays-Rangers brawl. Sure enough, Odor has been slapped with an eight game ban.

In case you’ve been living under a rock since Sunday afternoon, here’s the brawl, which was spurred on a hard slide into second by Jose Bautista, who was plunked earlier in the inning by Matt Bush. That was apparently a receipt from his bat flip in the ALDS last October.

Suspensions for other players and coaches involved are still trickling in. Blue Jays manager John Gibbons will get three games.

Gibbons was ejected earlier in the game, and returned to the field after the ejection to inject himself into the brawl.

Odor will appeal his suspension, and can play during the duration of the appeal.

The 22-year old Odor is hitting .278/.305/.487 with seven home runs and five stolen bases this season. The Rangers and Blue Jays have already concluded their season series, and if they meet again this season, it will be in the American League playoffs. Texas just started a six game road trip on Monday that will take them to Oakland and Houston before they return home to Arlington for a six game homestand with the Angels and Pirates.
