Oakland Athletics third baseman Ryon Healy launched a two-run dinger during the second inning of Tuesday’s game against the Seattle Mariners, but the victims included more than just pitcher Chase De Jong.
After the 112.7-mph ball sailed over the left field fence, it smashed the phone belonging to a fan named Peter Johnson.
That’s a pretty crappy feeling. Johnson seemed to take the bad luck in good spirits, smiling for a photo he tweeted out to the Athletics with the caption:
“@Athletics can you guys please buy me a new phone your 2 run shot broke mine”

I’m guessing this was meant as a joke, but sure enough the Athletics official Twitter account actually responded, telling Johnson the franchise will in fact buy him a new phone.
Don't worry, Peter. The A's are buying you a new phone. 👍 pic.twitter.com/X70DkqqVGb

Another great example of how Twitter can make the world a better place.
