The celebration for the Los Angeles Dodgers winning Game 2 of the World Series was short-lived when Shohei Ohtani grabbed his shoulder after a stolen base attempt on Saturday night.
Manager Dave Roberts said it was a “left shoulder subluxation,” but some good news has surfaced.
According to ESPN’s Karl Ravech, Ohtani got the green light to play in Game 3 against the New York Yankees in The Bronx.
Dodgers manager Dave Roberts tell me, Shohei Ohtani is “in a great spot and will be playing in game 3 tomorrow.”

The play happened on a feet-first slide and tag by Yankees shortstop Anthony Volpe.

That’s great news for the Dodgers who are up 2-0 in the series.
While we know Ohtani can hit and pitch, he’s also a phenomenal base stealer. He became the first, and only, member of the 50/50 club stealing at least 50 bases and hitting at least 50 home runs in 2024 during the regular season.
He’s fast and aggressive which just adds to his repertoire during a season where he’s not on the mound.
Game 3 is on Monday.
