Los Angeles Dodgers superstar Shohei Ohtani has been playing out of his mind lately. Ohtani is proving to be worth every penny of the massive deal he signed this offseason. He’s been electric at the plate seemingly every time he steps up.
On Saturday night, Ohtani and the Dodgers slugged their way to a 7-2 victory over the Los Angeles Angels. Ohtani hit a 459-foot home run against his former team.

MLB.com reporter Sarah Langs noted that Ohtani’s tape-measure home runs are setting Statcast-era records. Ohtani is the third player to hit at least four home runs more than 450 feet in a month. He has tied Joc Pederson for the Dodgers record for most home runs of that distance in a season, and tied Corey Seager and Yasiel Puig for the second-most homers of 440 feet or more for a Dodger in their career.

This season, Ohtani has hit .321/.398/.632 with 23 home runs, 61 runs scored, and 57 RBI. He has 16 stolen bases as well and ranks first in the National League in fWAR.
It’s been a terrific season for Ohtani thus far, and that doesn’t seem to be changing anytime soon.
