Every boy dreams of stepping up to the plate and smashing a World Series-winning home run at his favorite teams park. Few ever get the opportunity to make it happen in real life.
For some lucky Texas Rangers fans, they’ll get an opportunity to at least live out part of that dream. That’s because the team has announced a promotion to allow fans an opportunity to smack a home run and earn free season tickets in the process.
Don’t worry, said fan will only have to do what Rangers’ centerfielder Delino DeShields did all of two times as a full-time Major League Baseball player last season and star designated hitter Prince Fielder did all of 10 times last season in Globe Life Park.
Just remember, aim for the corners — its only 332 feet down the left field line and 325 feet in right field. Avoid center field at all costs, it’s a whopping 400 feet dead center and 407 to right-center field.
No pressure, but there is a catch to all of this. Not every fan is just going to be able to line up and take a swing. That’s because getting your first three hacks at a home run in Globe Life Park will cost fans a 25% downpayment on their season tickets.
Of course, don’t think you’re going to step up to the plate if you’re a former professional or college baseball player — you’re not allowed in to this one. Oh, and said price of one’s 25% deposit on season tickets will determine the tickets available to you for free (up to $10,000 of course).
