Honestly, I’m fine with just a plain old hot dog or sausage and an order of fries followed by a treat of ice cream in a helmet (because I’m eight years old, apparently), but I must say I am always out on the lookout for unique stadium food to sink my teeth into. With that being the case, I wouldn’t mind placing an order for some of the new menu items being offered by the Texas Rangers this postseason.

Take the TamArlington Dog, for example. This interesting item takes the hot dog out of the bun and serves it as a tamale complete with chili and nacho cheese. It’s essentially a chili dog with cheese without the bun. Seems pretty straightforward, no?

Not in the mood for a hot dog? No worries, because the Rangers have a burger for you. Check out The Atomic Burger, a two-pound slab of burger meat with Ghost Pepper cheese sauce and onions. I know I’d try it.

Of course, if you are down in the south, then you have to have a good brisket menu item, right? That’s what I have been told at least. The Rangers certainly have the most ballparky brisket menu item possible, the Popcornopolos Pita. This one has a little bit of everything, starting with a “Texas sized” portion of smoked brisket that is covered in mac n’ cheese on top of a pita bread. And of course, do not forget the caramel popcorn to top this one off. I’m not necessarily against mixing my foods, but I must admit this would not be my first choice.

Now here is where I am going to get a little picky, as a Philadelphia-area resident and cheese steak aficionado. The Rangers are selling The N.E.Q. Sandwich, which they describe as a Philly cheesesteak topped with provolone cheese, fried jalapenos, onion rings, waffle fries, fried mozzarella and white queso. Just for good measure, it comes with a serving of Captain Morgan dipping sauce. There is nothing Philly about this atrocity, but I would be very much willing to give it a try.

You just never know what you are going to see at the next baseball game you go to, and that includes on the menu.
