Robbing home runs is all the rage right now in Major League Baseball, and Travis Jankowski made sure to get in on all the fun with a sensational catch in the outfield. On Sunday, the Texas Rangers outfielder casually stole a home run away from the Seattle Mariners in sensational fashion.

Texas was in the midst of delivering another beatdown to the visiting Mariners. The Rangers held a 7-0 lead over the M’s in the top of the 5th inning. Mike Ford took a 1-1 pitch to right-center field. Jankowski had to make a long run to get to the ball in the first place. He wound up doing that and then some!

The stunning Travis Jankowski catch became the talk of the town on Sunday afternoon. The Rangers’ Twitter account boasted that the outfielder was the “Defender of the wall!”

Rangers beat writer Kennedi Landry was in awe of Jankowski’s catch, as they put it so succinctly on Twitter.

Talkin’ Baseball called it a “ridiculous catch.”

Bally Sports Southwest’s Twitter account’s post of the highlight-reel grab got significant attention as well.

The Rangers appear well on their way to another victory. They lead the AL West with a 37-20 record, 2.5 games ahead of second-place Houston. They’ve scored 364 runs and allowed 221. 181 of those 364 runs have come at home, where the team is 18-8 on the year going into Sunday.
