Trea Turner figures to be one of the most sought-after MLB free agents this offseason. The 30-year-old shortstop has been one of the best players in baseball both at his position and by and large over his eight-year career. He’ll command a lot of money and probably for good reason.

Over his career, Turner has slashed .302/.355/.487. He’s stolen 230 bases and is already north of 1,000 hits for his career (1,033). Turner is a two-time All-Star and finished as high as fifth in MVP voting in 2021.

Turner is part of a big free agency class at shortstop. World Series Champions Carlos Correa and Dansby Swanson are also expected to hit the open market this winter. So there will be a big chase for all these fish in the water right now. As such, there’s a need to stand out. Apparently, those who are looking after him have decided to do exactly that.

“A Trea Turner sizzle reel narrated by Jon Hamm was sent to teams earlier today, and it is awesome,” tweeted ESPN MLB insider Jeff Passan on Monday.

Talk about a Hollywood production. Hamm, a lifelong St. Louis Cardinals fan, offering his voice to the video is an interesting note. If only because Hamm and Turner are both represented by the same agency: CAA.

Granted, there are other reasons to be curious about his inclusion. Some took to Twitter to speculate about that. Others commented on the use of the video itself. Either way, the MLB world is buzzing about this Trea Turner sizzle reel.
