Forget about which baseball players will be representing the American League and National League at this season’s midsummer classic. What you really want to know is who will be on the celebrity all-star teams, right?
If you are not familiar with the typical roster of the All-Star celebrity softball game, it tends to be a blend of former baseball players and celebrities from a variety of mediums. This year’s teams will include past MLB stars Trevor Hoffman, Ozzie Smith, Tim Raines, and Rollie Fingers. The addition of Hoffman should have been expected, as the San Diego Padres are hosting this year’s all-star festivities at Petco Park. Hoffman spent 16 seasons with the Padres. Coincidentally enough, Smith was drafted by the Padres and started his career in San Diego. Fingers also saw some playing time with the Padres during his career.
Among the celebrities highlighting the rosters will be Sports Illustrated model Nina Agdal, American soccer star Landon Donovan, and actors J.K. Simmons and Mark-Paul Gosselaar. That’s right. Zack Morris himself will be making an appearance. Here’s hoping he has an opportunity to call a timeout at some point for a good laugh. Keep in mind, however, Morris was a Dodgers fan.
As for Simmons, we know he’ll be in game shape…
"Why in the name of god on steroids is 61-year-old J.K. Simmons putting on 'who hurt you' muscles?" https://t.co/MqAJ6eoyp0
