Willians Astudillo already had the Bartolo Colón stature mastered, and now the Minnesota Twins’ utility man is pitching like the four-time All-Star did too.
With the Twins trailing the Los Angeles Angels 10-3 on Friday night, “La Tortuga” got the opportunity to provide an incredible position player pitching moment.
The 5’9″, 225-pounder threw a 1-2-3 inning with velocity ranging from 46.0 to 72.5 mph according to Statcast. Two pitches didn’t even register because they were so slow, so it’s possible there were even pitches slower than 46 mph.

Willians Astudillo blowing up the radar gun in his inning… on the too-slow end, not the too-fast end:
51.4
59.0
46.0

72.5
pitch too slow for Statcast
46.3— Do-Hyoung Park (@dohyoungpark) April 17, 2021
Earlier in the week, Astudillo showed off his athleticism with a crazy slide at first base. He has played catcher, first base, second base, third base, and now pitcher this season. What an athlete.
