St. Louis Cardinals outfielder Matt Holliday left Thursday night’s game against the San Diego Padres after getting drilled right on the nose by an Andrew Cashner 95-mph fastball.

Holliday stayed on his feet and walked to first base, before the Cardinals wisely chose to remove him from the game. Fortunately, Holliday suffered no fractures, and the Cardinals are referring to his status as day-to-day:

Yikes, that is a nightmare moment for a hitter. Holliday is very, very lucky to leave that one without serious injury.
