During Thursday’s game between the Los Angeles Dodgers and the Colorado Rockies, a ground ball was hit to Chase Utley (Trust me, you’ll be surprised what happened).

Utley fumbled the ball, but then made a ridiculous recovery and flipped the ball somehow to first baseman Adrian Gonzalez and got the out. It’s a wacky play that we probably won’t see again for a while. Check it out:

The Dodgers’ Twitter account said it best: UNREAL. The 37-year-old Utley is not the second baseman he once was, but that play was outstanding.

To top off this magnificent play, Vin Scully even had to say “Wow!” after that play. And in the final days of his decades-long broadcast career, that is saying something. Only Scully can describe a play so amazing so eloquently.

While Los Angeles is getting closer and closer to a National League West title, plays like that from Utley can only help.
