Ji-Man Choi of the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim thought he had his third homer of the team’s game against the Oakland Athletics on Thursday night, but veteran outfielder Coco Crisp had other ideas.
Yes, that’s a tiny wall down the left field line at Angel Stadium, but this is still an incredible play by Crisp to rob Choi of a dinger, and it made Choi’s night feel a tad less special:

This came in the same inning Crisp gunned down the Angels’ Andrelton Simmons at second base, so quite an awesome inning on defense for the 36-year-old:
What an inning for #A‘s LF Coco Crisp, who guns down Simmons at 2B and leaps into seats above short LF wall to rob Choi of third HR. — Mike DiGiovanna (@MikeDiGiovanna) August 5, 2016
Back to back sensational plays by Coco Crisp. — Susan Slusser (@susanslusser) August 5, 2016
Robbing homers is nothing new for Crisp, as he’s done this nine times in his career:
9th career HR robbery for Coco Crisp (@Athletics). Only Torii Hunter (14) and Carlos Gomez (12) have more since Crisp debuted in 2002.
