The baseball season is just three days old, but already we are filling up our highlight reel. On Tuesday night in St. Louis, Chicago Cubs center fielder Alberta Almora added this web gem to the list.

With the Cubs holding on to a 2-1 lead in the bottom of the seventh inning, Matt Adams stepped to the plate for the Cards, sending one out to deep center field. But there was just enough room for Almora to make the play for the second out of the inning:

At a quick glance, it sure looked like Almora made a home run-saving catch, though as Bob Costas said during the replay, there may have been a chance the ball would’ve stayed in the park for an extra base hit instead.

Former Cub Dexter Fowler would strike out swinging for the third out of the inning, and the Cubs would hold on to win 2-1, via a ridiculous Javy Baez defensive play:
