There’s nothing wrong with a little extra effort, but giving up one’s tool of the trade in an effort to stop a home run in the first inning of a game?

Well, that’s exactly what Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder Joc Pederson did on Wednesday.

One can’t blame Pederson for the effort, especially since his team was down 3-0 in the first inning already and clearly needed some help. Instead, he sacrificed his glove in vain.

But dude…this is Coors Field and home runs are going to happen in the hitter’s haven. Save the effort and #SaveTheGlove…and considering it is just his second season in the big leagues, that’s just one more lesson to be learned.
