Tim Tebow’s quest to carve out a baseball career has led him to a Spring Training opportunity with the New York Mets. The odds of Tebow making it to the major leagues, let alone being a moderately successful player, were astronomical to begin with. Given he hasn’t played baseball in years and he’s a 29 year old rookie, hopefully that doesn’t come as a huge shock.
On Monday we got a chance to see Tebow against legitimate top flight major league pitching in Washington’s Max Scherzer. What happened when Tebow faced off with a 2-time Cy Young Award winner?
Good morning, good afternoon, good night. Tebow struck out in 37 seconds.

It's fun and eventful, and for Tim, it doesn't go well. pic.twitter.com/4oZabpjOYS

37 seconds! I’ve seen players adjust the inner workings of their uniform in the batter’s box for longer than 37 seconds! Good grief.
Tebow is currently batting .167 in 24 Spring Training at bats thus far for the Mets. He’s already lined up to play Single A ball with the Columbia Fireflies in the South Atlantic League this season while he continues to try to make it in professional baseball somewhere. God bless him for trying but thankfully he won’t likely see anyone close to Scherzer’s level in competitive action any time soon.
