Throwing the first pitch before a baseball game can be a no-win situation.

Throw a good pitch and, well, that’s what you were supposed to do. Throw a bad pitch and you live in infamy on the Internet for all of time.

Take WWE superstar Sheamus, whose first pitch before Wednesday’s Tampa Bay Rays game would have probably gone largely unnoticed except for the fact that it went wrong. With a dubious wind-up his pitch one-hopped it’s way to the catcher’s mitt. Quick thinker that he is, the former WWE Champion called for the ball back so he could get a second attempt. This one was a bit of a floater but at least it made it all the way home.

You gotta appreciate the determination in his eyes…if nothing else.
