While Yasiel Puig was playing in Game 7 of the World Series on Wednesday night, a burglar was breaking into his San Fernando Valley home, according to TMZ.

The bad news for Puig: He went 0-for-3, the Dodgers lost to the Astros and the burglar made off with some jewlery.

The good news for Puig: Law enforcement told TMZ that the burglar took only costume jewelry, valued at $150.

Per TMZ, the burglar seemed to get scared off by an alarm at Puig’s home, after taking only a handful of items. Puig, upon returning home from perhaps the most devastating loss of his career, was forced to answer questions from police, which was probably not how he envisioned his night ending.

If news of Puig being burglarized sounds familiar, that’s because the outfielder was robbed of $500,000 in watches and jewelry at a different house back in March. The guy could really use a better security system.

Anyway, the burglar who hit Puig on Wednesday is in for a rough surprise when he goes to get that jewelry appraised. It turns out he robbed a famous professional athlete, attracted what will likely be intense police attention and wound up in the national news, and all he got out of it was some fake gold. Hope it was worth it!
