The timing of this is pretty incredible, as yesterday we had a post about the New York Yankees’ Aaron Hicks setting the record for fastest throw from the outfield ever recorded by Statcast at 105.5 mph. In that post, we had some videos showing off some other great arms and throws in baseball history.

And my personal favorite throw from an outfielder has long been Jose Guillen throwing out Neifi Perez at third base, from the Coors Field right field warning track, in 1998:

Well, on Friday night at Coors Field, Yasiel Puig made just about the same throw to nail Rockies rookie sensation Trevor Story at third base:

Absolutely amazing, and it summarizes how the last 24 hours of baseball have gone:

A no-hitter.

A straight steal of home.

A triple play (and the first ever one like it).

And now this Puig throw. Fun times.
