Yoenis Cespedes has shown off an incredible variety of awesome rides at New York Mets camp this Spring Training.
Some examples:
- A customized Polaris Slingshot
- A giant customized Ford F-250
- A $367,000 customized Lamborghini Aventador
- An $86,000 customized Jeep Wrangler
- A HORSE
On Monday, we were introduced to Cespedes’ newest Spring Training ride, a tricycle modeled after the bike he had when growing up in Cuba:

This is actually a really cool story, as TMZ explains:
A Mets employee named Theresa — who happened to have the same bike Yoenis had growing up — got wind of the story, and wanted to do something nice for the Mets star. So, she took her trike to Alex Vega at The Auto Firm in Miami and asked him to hook up the 3-wheeler … on her dime.
Theresa gave Vega free reign … so he customized the tricycle to match his brand new Jeep Wrangler. Painted white with custom red spokes … and a seat stitched to look like a baseball.
Theresa was actually getting some work done on her own car at The Auto Firm, and when Cespedes found out, he paid for all of the improvements to her ride as a way of saying thanks for the amazing tricycle:
Here’s the twist … Theresa had also brought her OWN whip to The Auto Firm to get some work done herself.
Yoenis found out … and wanted to return the nice gesture — so he paid for ALL of the work done to Theresa’s car, which included custom rims and a new paint job.
MLB.Com’s Anthony DiComo says that Cespedes planned to bring the tricycle to Mets camp last Friday, but Terry Collins’ (lame) declaration that “fun time’s over” caused Cespedes to change his plans:
Originally, Cespedes planned to ride the trike to Mets camp last Friday. But after manager Terry Collins preached that “fun time’s over,” telling his players to buckle down in advance of Grapefruit League games, Cespedes changed his plans.
