Well, this was interesting. Dana White maybe, kind of, sort of hinted that this fight might actually happen.

For months now, we’ve heard about Conor McGregor and Floyd Mayweather getting in the ring and duking it out. However, we’ve only heard about the possibility of it happening – never where/when it actually will.

Conan (of all people) brought up the possibility of this fight while UFC head Dana White was on. White, who doesn’t hold much back, gave an honest and blunt answer about the possibility of this marquee fight happening:

Update, July 2021: This video has been removed.

In the video, we were actually able to find out something relevant, so kudos to Conan! Breaking all kinds of MMA news!

First of all, White stated the obvious when he said the negotiating process is difficult. However, we know it would be a boxing match for sure (this was pretty much a given but having White say it is always a good confirmation).

Also, the Mayweather crack by White was interesting. He’s perhaps getting the hype train going early, and pitching the potential bout as a referendum on MMA vs. boxing.

It’s also interesting to see White’s UFC loyalty when he says that Mayweather definitely won’t knock him out. While I agree with White, it’s interesting for him to be this blunt. Let’s hope this is the start to the actual planning of this fight and the ending of the never-ending speculation.

Meanwhile, Conan continues his move into the MMA world, following his Clueless Gamer segment with McGregor that did not go well for Conan.
