His brother Nate may have lost a decision to Conor McGregor in Vegas on Saturday, but fellow MMA fighter Nick Diaz was still partying into the week.

Early Wednesday, he was at Hyde at the Bellagio, when he was reportedly jumped by a group of guys after he accidentally bumped into one.

TMZ has the details:

We’re told Nick apologized and said he didn’t want any trouble, but 3 other men then joined the first guy and jumped Nick … who tells us, “I didn’t start it. They didn’t know who I was.”

He tried to defend himself, and got hit hard in the head — and then the fight spilled out of the bathroom, and out onto the Bellagio’s casino floor.

So how big did this thing get? Just handbags at five yards, or something more serious? Well, whenever furniture starts to get thrown around, it’s probably crazy:

The melee was insane — the club’s rep says the attackers were swinging chairs and brawling with club and casino staffers. They were eventually removed by security.

Whether or not you believe that Diaz was a total victim who did nothing to provoke anybody, I guess it’s possible that Diaz was in the wrong place at the wrong time. Though maybe it was actually the other way around:

Nick told the Bellagio he didn’t want to press charges, and told us, “They got the worst of it.”
