Ronda Rousey hosted SNL on Saturday night, one of her first high-profile appearances since she lost to Holly Holm in November.

Early in her opening monologue, Rousey paused for a joke-free congratulations to the first opponent ever to take her down.

“This is the first time I’m talking to my fans since I lost to Holly Holm in November, which by the way was a fight Holly deserved to win, and I just wanted to take a minute to sincerely congratulate her.”

Heartfelt concessions to your rival are not typical SNL monologue fare, but apparently Rousey (or her publicist) felt like she had to acknowledge the shocking loss.

Rousey went on to joke about (not) having brain damage, before Taran Killam and Beck Bennett came in as mock UFC announces narrating the host’s attempts to “win” the monologue. Rousey gave out cake and brought out Selena Gomez to sing a song.
