Many have been speculating about a potential return to football for star tight end Rob Gronkowski after announcing his retirement in June, but it appears that he has his eyes on another potential media role at the moment, and this one will be for ESPN for their UFC coverage.
ESPN announced on Thursday that it will feature Gronkowski along with the rest of his family in an alternate broadcast for UFC 278 on Saturday.
Along with the Gronkowski family, a number of fighters will join the broadcast at various points including Chuck Liddell, Kevin Holland, Paddy Pimblett, and Molly McCann.
In classic Rob Gronkowski fashion, he posted a hilarious video last week to announce the alternate stream, that will be produced by Omaha Productions, the production company that works on Monday Night Football’s “Manningcast” during NFL season.

This seems like a great way to get the casual MMA fan to be interested in the pay-per-view card, and many are excited to see the always entertaining Gronkowski’s this weekend.

It may not be the typical hard-hitting information that you get from the commentary booth typically while watching a UFC event, but it should be a nice change of pace and extremely entertaining for some.
It’s unclear if Gronkowski will return to the NFL after his latest retirement like he did in 2020 with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, but media roles like this seem to indicate that he is enjoying himself in his life outside of football.
