The Philadelphia 76ers’ postseason run came to an end in a blowout loss to the Boston Celtics on Sunday. Former 76ers star Ben Simmons took notice of the game and didn’t seem all that upset with the result.

Simmons played for the 76ers organization for the first six years of his career. He was then famously dealt to the Brooklyn Nets in a trade package that sent James Harden to Philadelphia.

Simmons’ tenure with the 76ers was filled with drama. He refused to play for the team in the 2021-22 season which certainly played a role in being dealt.

Most 76ers fans dislike the three-time All-Star, and it seems like the feeling is mutual. Simmons took to social media to post a picture of him watching the game in the fourth quarter with a glass of wine on his living room table.

He didn’t directly say that he was happy about the 76ers losing. Regardless, most certainly took it that way.

If this is indeed a dig at the 76ers, it’s certainly an odd one considering Simmons’ lack of production recently. While some fans loved the pettiness from him, others feel like he has no room to talk.

Simmons was often used as the scapegoat for 76ers fans to explain their postseason failures when he was with the team. That is no longer an option for them and Simmons seems to really enjoy that.

It seems like some big changes could be coming to the organization, especially after star center Joel Embiid blasted all of his teammates but James Harden after their loss.

“Me and James, we can’t win alone. That’s why basketball is played five-on-five. We need everybody to find ways to be better.”
