Monday night’s game between the Portland Trail Blazers and Minnesota Timberwolves at Target Center has been cancelled due to poor court conditions.

The court was reportedly slippery, thanks to condensation, which was caused by warm weather and ice under the court. Disney on Ice took place at the venue last night:

Multiple Blazers complained about the court conditions while warming up (or trying to). Portland star guard Damian Lillard called the conditions “unplayable”, and big man Meyers Leonard said the court “is slicker than snot”:

So, it’s a good thing the game was indeed called off, but it’s a pretty embarrassing moment for the Timberwolves and the Target Center. The makeup date has not yet been announced.

This is actually the second time an NBA game has been postponed due to poor court conditions this season, as a Kings-Sixers game at Philadelphia’s Wells Fargo Center was also postponed in November due to condensation on the court.
