Washington Wizards star Bradley Beal got into an altercation with some fans Tuesday night when the Wizards faced the Orlando Magic.
According to a TMZ report Thursday, there were two altercations. The first took place courtside during the game when the hecklers took aim at Beal for losing them money.
They could be heard saying “You ****ed me $1,300, you ****.”
Then after the game, the hecklers continued, getting it with Beal (seen above driving against Markelle Fultz during this game) in the tunnel. That led to him reportedly knocking the hat off of one of them and exchanging further comments, including “Keep it a buck. I don’t give a **** about none of your bets or your parlays, bro. That ain’t why I play the game.”
The alleged victim went to police the next day, saying Beal hit him in the head when he knocked off his cap. Beal has not yet officially been charged, but could be charged with simple battery. That could lead to up to a year in jail.
Hecklers have become more of a thing these days in the NBA with several fans being booted from games for being rude. But it’s not just fans telling players their play is terrible. A lot of it has become personal and downright nasty.
There have been reports across the league of fans being ejected for using racial slurs and some threatening to do bodily harm to players or their family members.
One has to wonder if the Magic will allow these two hecklers to come back to any games any time soon.
