Brittney Griner and Kevin Durant

Kevin Durant is now the face of the Phoenix Suns following his trade from the Brooklyn Nets.

Brittney Griner is back to being the face of the Phoenix Mercury following her horrific ordeal in the Russian legal system last year.

The two iconic Phoenix professional basketball players met recently and shared a special moment on the court.

Via the Phoenix Mercury social media account, a video of the NBA superstar and WNBA superstar meeting and embracing was shared on Thursday.

“All love between BG x. KD,” read the tweet. “It’s a new dawn in the desert.”

The Phoenix Suns’ Twitter account replied with plenty of heart emojis as well.

Durant is set to play his first game for the Suns on Wednesday against the Charlotte Bobcats. After practice on Tuesday in Charlotte, Durant told reporters he hasn’t felt pain in his knee in “a couple of weeks” and that he is feeling “fine” right now.

Meanwhile, Griner is working to get back into game shape following her ordeal. She re-signed with the Mercury on a one-year deal last month and is hoping to recapture her proficiency in 2021 when she led the league in efficiency rating, finished second in scoring, second in field-goal percentage, first in blocks per game, and averaged a franchise-record and career-high 9.5 rebounds.
