One of the most controversial players in the NBA this season has been Los Angeles Lakers rookie Bronny James, whom the Lakers selected with the 55th overall pick in the second round.
Many feel as if Bronny was only selected because he is the son of the Lakers forward LeBron James, who had mentioned in years past his desire to take share an NBA floor with his eldest son.
Now, those who believe that Bronny is only in the league because of his last name have some more fuel to their fire. Bronny finished the NBA season with a shooting percentage of 31.3%, which would be good for the worst among qualified shooters in the league, per StatMuse, although he did not qualify.
Fans reacted to the brutal statistic on social media.
“He’s the inverse of his pops will break a ton of records but all for the wrong reasons,” one fan wrote on Twitter.
“Not cool to make big deal about it. He took an opportunity someone offered that no basketball player would turn down,” someone else added.
“Well since he never should have been in the NBA, this stat shouldn’t even exist,” another fan added.
It’ll be interesting to see if Bronny can improve or if his career ends when his dad chooses to retire.
