The Chicago Bulls parted ways with a former All-Star guard on Tuesday.

Chicago waived guard Goran Dragic, who spent only the last few months with the team. The Bulls signed Dragic back in August but he will now have to look elsewhere to pick up his NBA career.

“The Bulls have waived Goran Dragic,” Shams Charania of The Athletic tweeted.

Dragic, 36, may join a team heading to the postseason. But he finds himself now in an interesting spot in his career. He has played professional basketball since 2004 and has been in the NBA since 2008. He’s enjoyed a pretty fruitful career, which may have hit its peak in 2018 when voters selected him for the All-Star team.

Dragic also won the NBA Most Improved Player of the Year Award in 2014. Also in 2014, voters elected him to the All-NBA Third Team.

This season, in 51 games with Chicago, Dragic averaged 6.4 points and 2.7 assists per games while shooting 42.5 percent.

It’s been a rough season for the Chicago Bulls. The team has been without star Lonzo Ball all season due to lingering knee issues. The Bulls are 28-33 and 11th in the NBA Eastern Conference. Their move with Dragic doesn’t seem to signal much beyond the move itself, as they are a half-game back of the Washington Wizards for the 10th and final playoff spot.
