The Cleveland Cavaliers are coming off a disappointing second-round loss to the Indiana Pacers in the NBA playoffs. The Cavs responded by trading for point guard Lonzo Ball.
However, the Cavs may have an even bigger move in their back pocket. Noise around discontent between the Los Angeles Lakers and LeBron James has grown louder in recent days, which may set up for a potential reunion between James and the franchise that drafted him in 2003.
However, the Cavs are reportedly only interested in adding James in one specific scenario.
“Cleveland is only interested in LeBron James in a buyout situation, per (Sam Amico of Hoopswire),” reported NBA Central.
Fans reacted to the news on social media.
“Can we stop this LeBron James leaving the Lakers talk, it isnt gonna happen it was just a good tactic from Rich Paul (shoutout Rich Paul),” one fan wrote on Twitter.
“Damn son. I guess CLE is off the board. Any other takers? Will Pat Riley welcome him back? Most likely just trade Wiggins (how ironic) and a few picks,” another fan wrote.
“I’m sure every team would want LeBron on a buyout,” someone else added.
It’ll be interesting to see where James lands if his days with the Lakers really are coming to a close.
