Charles Barkley

Charles Barkley absolutely blasted Memphis Grizzlies forward Dillon Brooks Wednesday night, saying he’s been talking too much.

Speaking on TNT’s pregame show before the Grizzlies’ Game 5 matchup against the Los Angeles Lakers, Barkley called out Brooks for trash talking LeBron James during Game 2. After that game, Brooks continued the tough talk about James, telling reporters “He’s old.”

Brooks’ taunting and disrespectful talk about James didn’t sit well with NBA fans. Wednesday night, Barkley threw Brooks’ talk right back at him.

“You can’t talk all that noise and then play bad,” Barkley said (via NBA on TNT). “You calling people ‘old’ and the old man is just kicking your *** … Let’s be honest about it.”

Brooks’ antics appeared to light a fire under James, who has played well since those incidents. He had 22 points and 20 rebounds in the Lakers’ Game 4 overtime win.

Meanwhile, Brooks has played like, well, like he’s old (no offense meant to seniors). He’s scored only 18 points combined in the past two games, on 7-of-24 shooting.

NBA fans cheered Barkley’s take-down of Brooks.
