Protests erupted in Charlotte, North Carolina after police shot and killed Keith Lamont Scott. Police claim that Scott had a gun, while his family attests that he was simply holding a book.

The Charlotte Hornets team store was looted during the protests that were taking place in Charlotte as a result of yet another police shooting.

Things in North Carolina have gotten so serious that a state of emergency was declared late on Wednesday night:

Things like the Scott shooting, as well as the shooting of Terence Crutcher is precisely what Colin Kaepernick has been protesting. These are also the same injustices that Steve Kerr spoke about to the media Wednesday afternoon.

Between losing the 2017 NBA All-Star Game, and having their team store broken into, it hasn’t been a great offseason for the Hornets.
