#6- Classic shot of The Rugrats.

The Charlotte Hornets are jumping on the nostalgia train. On Thursday, the team announced it will be holding a Nickelodeon-themed night, and they’re pulling off all the stops to make sure you get all the 90s vibes you can, including having Kel Mitchel from Keenan & Kel co-host the event.

Here are details from the team’s release.

Time Warner Cable Arena will flash back to your favorite and most memorable moments of your childhood. Nickelodeon and your Hornets are partnering to bring fans a one-of-a-kind ‘90s experience, featuring music, dunks and, of course, Slime! If you love orange soda and green slime, and grew up on Nickelodeon hit shows like All That, Keenan & Kel, Double Dare, Ren & Stimpy, Rugrats, Legends of the Hidden Temple or Hey Arnold, you won’t want to miss this experience.

Plus, Nickelodeon hosts Kel Mitchell and Jeff Sutphen will be there for this one-night-only experience! Fans can also expect pre-game photo opps, costume characters, giveaways and a Double Dare halftime show!

That sounds pretty rad, although I’m concerned about the slime.

According to Charlotte Five, fans will be able to get photos taken with the Double Dare podium, different Rugrats characters including Chuckie, Tommy and Angelica, as well as the Temple Guard from Legends of the Hidden Temple. So if those things and characters had special meaning to you as a kid, you’ll have a big opportunity to relive your childhood.

The event features a good variety of shows for all ages. The great thing about most Nickelodeon programs is that they could be enjoyed by kids and adults, although I’d imagine most people looking forward to the event are adults who were kids when Nickelodeon was at its peak.

The 90s Nickelodeon Night is scheduled for March 1, with the Hornets hosting the Phoenix Suns.
