One of the big concerns that many in NBA circles have about Chet Holmgren is that his body won’t hold up under the stress of an NBA season. After suffering an injury this past weekend, the latest news isn’t going to change that narrative anytime soon.
The No. 2 pick in the 2022 NBA Draft may have torn ligaments in his foot, according to The Athletic’s Shams Charania, and the timetable for his return to the court is currently being formulated based on evaluations.
The Thunder phenom suffered the injury while taking part in the Jamal Crawford CrawsOver Pro-Am game this weekend in Seattle. The game had to be called due to unsafe court conditions as it was reportedly too slippery, making it hard for players to grip the court.

The 7-footer was a sought-after prospect that many considered the No. 1 talent in the 2022 draft class. However, his 190-pound frame caused concern for some. Still, Holmgren averaged 12 points, 7.7 rebounds, 2.3 assists, and two blocks in three games in the Summer League.
While we wait for more information about Holmgren’s injury and what the prognosis will be, the NBA world had some strong reactions to the news.

we will see how long the timetable is set for, there is truly no rush back for Holmgren. Training camp starts next month, first week of October is the beginning of preseason, regular season is 19th. https://t.co/kl4KHpnRJH
