We’re still a few months away from actual NBA action, but in the meantime, the various Summer League games, unscheduled workouts, and pro-ams give us a little sneak peek at the league’s young stars, and Paolo Banchero and Chet Holmgren put on an absolute show this weekend.
Playing at The CrawsOver ProAm hosted by Jamal Crawford, the pair of NBA Draft lottery picks combined for an eye-popping 84 points with Banchero leading the way with a massive 50 points.
This certainly isn’t the first time either of these players has impressed the NBA world this summer.
Banchero stole the show in his first Summer League game against the Houston Rockets and second overall pick Jabari Smith, finishing the game with 17 points along with six assists and four rebounds. He followed that up by dropping 23 points on the Sacramento Kings and fourth overall pick Keegan Murray in his second Summer League game.
Holmgren also wowed in his Summer League Debut, scoring 23 points with seven rebounds, four assists, and six shots Holmgren, shooting an extremely efficient 7-of-9 from the field and 4-of-6 on threes while going 5-of-5 at the free throw line.
Based on these highlights, it’s safe to say the future of the NBA is in good hands.
