Here’s some good news in the world of sports. Miami Heat forward Chris Bosh released a statement on Thursday, clarifying that he’s not dealing with deep vein thrombosis or blood clots. Those conditions would have kept him out of action for the rest of the season.

But Bosh says he’s hopeful he can return to Miami this year.

Bosh ,31, missed the rest of last season, post-All-Star break, after a blood clot was found in one of his lungs. However, he returned this season and was set to appear in NBA All-Star festivities when he was forced to withdraw from the competition after blood clot scares in his leg.

The veteran forward has missed 11 straight games for the Heat. During that span, Miami has rejuvenated its playoff chances and bumped up to fourth in the Eastern Conference with an 8-3 mark. The second gear was largely found due to a weak schedule and the addition of shooting guard Joe Johnson.

Bosh has had an impressive season in the 53 games he’s appeared, averaging 19.1 points per game, 7.4 rebounds, while shooting 36 percent from three-point range. There’s no guarantee he’ll return this season, but if the Heat can add him back into the mix, they become legitimate Eastern Conference contenders.

Hopefully for Bosh, the latest blood clot incident is his last and he doesn’t have to miss anymore future action, nor worry about his health.
