D-League alley-oop

It’s been a very entertaining last few days for the NBA D-League.

On Wednesday night, former Louisville star point guard Russ Smith — now a member of the Delaware 87ers — went off for a D-League record 65 points. And on Thursday, the Iowa Energy (Memphis Grizzlies affiliate) pulled off an alley-oop play that looked straight out of ‘NBA Jam’.

Watch former Kentucky star Andrew Harrison throw a behind-the-back bounce pass to James Ennis, who tosses up an alley-oop pass to D.J. Stephens, who throws down a vicious slam:

The announcers were great on that one too.

At the 2013 NBA Draft Combine, Stephens — who played three games with the Milwaukee Bucks in 2014 — had the highest standing vertical leap (40 inches), and highest running vertical leap (46 inches ever) recorded. That information is certainly no surprise after seeing the awesome alley-oop dunk.
