On Sunday evening, NBA superstar Damian Lillard put on a show to lead his Portland Trail Blazers to victory over the Houston Rockets, scoring a franchise-record 71 points in the game. It was a shocking performance to anyone who tuned in and it appears to have gotten a little too much attention from the NBA.
After the game, Damian Lillard revealed that he was actually given a drug test immediately following the stellar performance.
“Honestly, I was like ‘are y’all serious?’” Lillard said after the game, according to Fox News. “I did the urine test yesterday and they backed it up with the blood draw tonight after the game – that’s actually the first time in my career being tested after a game. And then aside from that, they know that I’m scared of needles.”
Lillard said that even though he has several tattoos, he’s still afraid of getting his blood drawn, saying “it’s different.”
“I know I got a lot of tattoos, but when you’re doing the blood draw, it’s different than tattoos. But it brought me down from up here,” Lillard said motioning with his hand, “to the floor. All the way until it was done and then once I was finished, I was like ‘alright, I got that out the way.’”
It’s certainly quite a way to celebrate a historic game.
