The NBA community was devastated earlier this season after young phenom Victor Wembanyama’s second season in the league was brought to an abrupt end after he was diagnosed with deep vein thrombosis, more commonly known as a blood clot, in his right shoulder.

Now, in an incredibly unfortunate situation, another superstar has been diagnosed with a deep vein thrombosis, according to one prominent NBA insider.

“Milwaukee Bucks: Damian Lillard has sustained a deep vein thrombosis (blood clot) in his right calf. Lillard is on blood-thinning medication, which has stabilized the blood clot, and will continue with regular testing. He is out indefinite period,” reported ESPN’s Shams Charania on Tuesday.

Fans reacte to the brutal news on social media.

“Typical duration of treatment is 3 months minimum, so very good chance he’s out the rest of the season,” one doctor wrote on Twitter.

“Giannis injury right before the playoffs last year and now this man this Bucks era has been cursed,” another fan added.

“Absolutely brutal. Prayers up for Dame, ” someone else added.

“Man this has been a BRUTAL few years for Bucks fans. 3 straight years of playoff runs derailed by pure lack of luck,” someone else added.

Hopefully, Lillard can make a full recovery and return to doing what he loves.
