The Detroit Pistons are bringing back a uniform from the days Grant Hill and Jerry Stackhouse starred.
On Monday night, the Pistons announced the return of their teal uniforms for an alternate option in the 2022-2023 season. The teal uniforms were worn from 1996-2001.
This time around, it will be young stars Cade Cunningham and Jaden Ivey donning the teal and fiery horse.

It’s now official (if you really doubted) … THE TEALS ARE BACK.
The Pistons will wear the Grant Hill-era jerseys for the first time in over 20 years this season.

Stackhouse — currently the head coach at Vanderbilt — helped with the jersey announcement.

These uniforms were an extremely different look from the Pistons’ traditional red-blue combo, which is still going.
Here’s a peek at how NBA fans are reacting to the Pistons bringing back the teal uniforms for next season:
OK, yeah, we're going to need one…

Guys, nobody is more of a pushover for nostalgia than I am. And I get that most everyone loves throwback uniforms.
But the Pistons' teal unis? With the horsehead and the exhaust pipes. Come on. They were awful. It's a shame that Grant Hill and Jerry Stackhouse had to wear them. https://t.co/Zaj3w5DOpt

Oh no, Detroit Pistons teal with the motor logo were some of the worst uniforms of all time. https://t.co/PgOaFt1ZPv

I’ve never liked the Teal Horsehead uniforms, but I know lots of #Pistons fans have wanted them to come back for years
Detroit and teal just don’t go together if you ask me, haha
The team will be legit even if these jerseys aren’t in my humble opinion #DetroitBasketball https://t.co/F51aNssns7

I can't emphasize enough that when I made this account, this seemed beyond impossible. Thanks to all those who bought Grant Hill jerseys or harassed the Pistons enough to make this happen.
WE DID IT. WE REALLY DID IT. https://t.co/i95brx0HqS

The only NBA jerseys that rival the Suns’ Sunsburst jerseys from the 90s are those teal Pistons throwbacks. Magnificent

Seeing a lot of hate on the timeline about the Pistons teal jerseys. Mark me down as a fan of them.
