To no one’s surprise, the Memphis Grizzlies have all but cut Dillon Brooks. The Grizzlies reportedly told Brooks that he “will not be brought back under any circumstances,” according to Shams Charania of The Athletic.

Every since Brooks ran his mouth about LeBron James, it was downhill for him and his team, who lost their opening-round series to the Lakers 4-2. Brooks infamously said he didn’t respect James and called him old.

“I poke bears,” Brooks said. “I don’t respect no one until they come and give me 40, so I pride myself on what I do on defense and taking on any challenge that’s on the board.”

In their last game of the series, the Lakers put a 40-piece on the Grizz and led from start to finish.

James also had a double-double in game 4 of the series, putting up 22 points and 20 rebounds in the Lakers victory. Forty seems to be the theme throughout the series once Dillon Brooks runs his mouth.

And now he is gone, and social media had plenty to say about Brooks’s departure.

As you can tell, Brooks is taking a beating on social media right now. After all that talk, Brooks refused to face the press and after the series was over, LeBron James didn’t shake any of the Grizzlies players’ hand,s which pretty much tells you how he felt about the whole situation.
