Memphis Grizzlies wing Dillon Brooks made an attempt to pay homage to a WWE Hall of Famer on Tuesday.

Brooks arrived to FedEx Forum for the Grizzlies’ upcoming matchup Tuesday night against the Los Angeles Lakers.  The former Oregon Ducks star dressed up like popular former WWE legend Stone Cold Steve Austin.

The issue with the outfit? Well… firstly, aside from the black vest and jean shorts, there’s not much resemblance to Austin here. Brooks’ choice of red and white sneakers and socks does go against the black boots Austin used to don. Never mind the sunglasses, something Austin obviously never wore.

Several took a few issues to the post. NBA fans ripped Brooks for his attempt at dressing like Austin.

One fan claimed it was “defamation of character.”

Another claimed that Portland star Damian Lillard did it better. Which, by comparison, yes.

Randy Cruz, away from the others, joked about what the video looked like of him walking into the arena.

John Hollinger was left speechless.

One fan joked that Brooks might try a Stone Cold Stunner on Lakers star Anthony Davis during the game.

Another fan bemoaned about Adam Silver’s NBA in response to the outfit.

And Raptors Report joked that he looked more like Bebop from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.

Safe to say, the fans didn’t give the traditional response that Austin would elicit in his heyday.
