As the L.A. Lakers continue their search for a new head coach, current Philadelphia 76ers head coach Doc Rivers, is still on their radar as a potential head coach.
Despite losing to the Miami Heat in the Eastern Conference semis, Rivers is still on the top of the Lakers’ wish list for potential head coaches.

Sixers president of basketball operations Daryl Morey praised Rivers for all the work he has done with the team and expects they will make it far with him as head coach.
“I just think he’s a great coach,” Morey said. “I love working with him. I feel like I’m learning from him. I think [general manager] Elton [Brand] and I and him make a great team, and we’re gonna see where this journey takes us.
“But we feel very good about where it’s gonna take us, and it’s gonna be where we have a very good chance to win the title.”
The Lakers had an embarrassing blow Sunday when University of Michigan head coach Juwan Howard reportedly turned down the head coaching job.

The Lakers can’t seem to get anyone to take on the task of becoming head coach of this team. A lot of top names have turned down the job now, which makes you wonder if it’s time to promote from within or hire a former assistant. Until then, it appears they’re going to continue trying to make a splash.
Why are the Lakers so desperate for a bad coach? I don't get it https://t.co/M3aqJlbejB
