Drew Gordon, the older brother of Denver Nuggets forward Aaron Gordon and a former NBA player on his own, passed away on Thursday.
Marc J. Spears of ESPN Andscape shared on X (formerly Twitter) that Gordon, 33, died in a car accident.
“Former NBA forward Drew Gordon, the brother of Nuggets forward Aaron Gordon, died in a car accident in Portland, Ore., today, his agent Calvin Andrews confirmed to ESPN Andscape,” Spears said. “The San Jose native who played at UCLA and New Mexico was 33 years old.”

Gordon began his college career at UCLA, where he played for two years. Following the 2009-10 season, he transferred to New Mexico, where he played for the next two seasons before going undrafted in 2012. His NBA career was brief, consisting of only nine games with the Philadelphia 76ers in 2014. He played professionally around the world, earning All-Star nods in France in 2016 and Russia in 2018. Most recently, Gordon played for Japan’s Rizing Zephyr Fukuoka in 2022 and 2023.
