Future Hall of Famer Dwyane Wade has blocked his daughter’s Instagram comments due to negative comments left by trolls, the former Miami Heat guard recently announced.

“I hate that I can’t comment hearts and cute comments on Zaya Wade’s [Instagram] post,” a fan wrote. “As a member of her community, the LGBTQ community, I wanna lift her up too! [Gabrielle Union and Dwyane Wade] — fix it please.”

“For Zaya’s mental health and privacy we’ve decided not to allow the hate into her comments. Thank you for wanting to spread and send her love,” responded Wade.

Fans were mostly responsive:

“Awesome, Dwyane Wade protecting his daughter from the a**holes on Twitter!! That’s what a father does!” wrote one fan.

“Dwayne is such a good dad. Let your kids be who they want to be, and try and protect them at the same time,” said another user.

“I’m literally crying … I’m so glad she has such sweet and supportive parents,” tweeted another user.

“A proactive, protective father!!! If this ain’t goals, just know you slacking and will forever be. Salute this man and love he has for [his] daughter. [You] love [to see it!!!” wrote another fan.

Zaya has struggled with online trolls since announcing she’s a transgender person in 2020.
