DeAndre Jordan is one of the very worst free throw shooters in NBA history. And shooting airballs on free throws is certainly nothing new to Jordan, but the Los Angeles Clippers’ big man managed to even surprise himself with how badly he airballed a free throw attempt on Thursday against the Phoenix Suns.

Jordan’s free throw landed well short of the basket, and he knew it right when it (horribly) left his hands:

I will never understand how an NBA player that shoots these probably hundred times a day in practice could miss a free throw that badly.

But, the truth is that the Clippers really don’t care about Jordan’s free throws, as evidenced by the four-year, $88 million contract he has with the organization despite being a career 43.1 percent free throw shooter. Jordan still managed to score 11 points, pull down 17 rebounds, and block three shots in the Clippers’ 124-118 win over the Suns.
