Odds are your weekend went better than Keith Appling’s did.

The former Michigan State basketball standout was arrested Sunday night for his actions relating to an incident at a Dearborn, Michigan strip club. Appling, 24, was allegedly inside the Pantheon Club with a fully-loaded AK-47.

No one is talking much on the record about what exactly happened that night but Appling is still in the Dearborn Police Department jail waiting to see what he could be charged with.

Appling is a former McDonald’s All-American and played four years at Michigan State, making multiple All-Big Ten teams while he was there. The 6-1 guard is tied for third in school history for games started, and 18th all-time in points scored.

Appling was not drafted out of school, but signed two 10-day contracts with the Orlando Magic back in January. He appeared in just five games, averaging just over five minutes played and 1.2 points per contest. He most recently played for the Magic’s D-League affiliate, the Erie Bay Hawks, averaging 19 points and 5.1 assists per game in 35 games.
